Woolbert is the textured wool variation of our loopy toy sheep family. Based on our Large Loopy Wool Sheep but with a simpler design for our sewers and a few other changes all designed to make Woolbert the more cost friendly alternative, Woolbert is now our number one selling product and an absolute favourite with visitors to NZ.

Made from pure NZ spun wool in various natural shades (from white to brown). It is a large (approx 20cm long) pure wool sheep. The wool has been spun and treated for export after being shorn from a real sheep, but hold it up to your nose and it still smells just like the real thing…..we don’t think you’ll get that with the acrylic sheep made overseas. As New Zealand as you can get. 

Available with or without sheep sound. If you choose "'with baa" the sheep will Baa when you squeeze one of his feet – due to an electronic noise we’ll put inside it.

Child friendly with safety washer eyes. Made in New Zealand (ofcourse!). See also his luxurious cousin Large Loopy Wool Sheep.

Woolbert in the time of Covid 19

I first saw Woolbert at a store in Hokitika, toward the end of our trip to the South Island in February. My son bought one there and then as a present for his fiancé, but I thought it would be easier to order the cute sheep online and have it sent to me in the US. The nice folks at Rozcraft posted it within a week, at the end of February, but unfortunately Covid 19 began to spread rapidly soon after, including in NZ. The package never arrived due to all the disruptions. While waiting for it, I corresponded amiably via email with Dave at Rozcraft, and once it became clear that my Woolbert was indeed lost in transit, they sent me another one. This time it worked! And did I mention? - Woolbert really is adorable.

So to summarize: authentically woolen, hand sewn (mine was by Fay), cute sheep - nice souvenir.
AND great customer service!
