You might be thinking how do you get feathers from a Chinchilla? And you're right a Chinchilla isn't even a bird. These feathers come from the Rooster bird and are named as they are naturally brown and white with light and dark grey striped patterns across the body - similar to a chinchilla.
These are coque (tail) feathers with a sturdy but flexible spine. Each feather is approximately 15cm long and there are over 500 feathers strung in the bundle. Great for weaving in to Korowai.
