Grass Skirt (or Raincape)
- Maori culture, bags, cushions
Grass skirt when worn around the waist like a Piupiu. It’s also a Paki (traditional Maori Raincape) when worn over the shoulders and tied at the back.
60cm waist which means as a skirt it fits children up to about 7 years old; smaller children can have it overlapping like you do with PiuPiu. 45cm cord on either side of the 60cm raffia skirt. The raffia strands are 50cm high.
Features a strip of ‘Roimata’ (brown) faux fur at top.
The same item fits Adults as a Paki (Raincape).
We can also make larger ones to fit adult waists, please enquire. Real genuine piupiu made from flax can also be made to order – see the PiuPiu page.
Made in New Zealand. Fine for export.
